My Message To You Children

Coloured skies fading to a dull gray
As children realise
This is not a place of rainbows
Puppies grow old, then they die
It's where we sell pills for less
And drugs on the street
Where depression is as common
As a mother or a father
Abuse takes place
Nothing is right
It's too late to save this god forsaken place
People say it'll be alright
But your made of porcelain my children
You won't last
One way or the other
You'll find some addiction to cling to
Like a non stick coating on that pan
Your mother never used
Over age that coating wears thin
And eventually it's too late
Baby don't cry
There will be so much of that later on
Smile for now
Stay away from sharp things and little pills
Stay safe for as long as possible
Little children this world is cruel
I myself have realised so
They say it's not to late
But thousands have been shattered into millions
It was once beautiful, I shall admit
But much before our time
My beautiful children
It is to late
Your innocent souls will be tainted and crushed
We don't belong
But we all say it'll be alright
And clutch our addictions like life lines

Author notes

4. And I have left alone everything that I own to make you feel like it's not too late, it's never too late. (Three Days Grace)

i know its almost the opposite to the quote but it just brought this out

i don't usually write TO someone, usually more half abstracty crappy things. well, i'm writing to all the children of the world today about the hardships they will face. yeah....not my usual style but the lyrics of the song that th quote is from inspired it.

this is my personal opinion. if you think differently well done. i have no belief in god, i have little belief in the beauty of life, poetry is beauty, anger is not.

Please tell me what you think

You certainly did take the quote and use it to your liking. Some quotes do make you think of the opposite. I like the message, I really do.
