I do, in all my desperation for your care -
try to fit it all into my prayer
Do you need me to be more profound?
Do you call for that I'm not around?
Do you, in all your discretion and cherish -
not see that I am in perish?

Do you, in all your power and right -
listen to my heart in this night?
I do need you to hear, though absurd
I do call for my voice to be heard

I always love the use of rhetorical questions in poetic works. Only you can answer them and although they are aimed at someone in particular, you know they already know the answers. A thought-inducing work here poet. I've been married 34 years to the same adorable man (we were childhood sweethearts) and I still have questions like this that pop up now and again. I most especially liked the fifth stanza. Nice to meet you poet. Isn't it wondrous to have an avenue to get our feelings out where we can see them?
