I lead my legions to the war of solitude
Across snow-dusted hills and frozen lakes
I knew I would not win – I wish I could
But there’s no winning with truth at stake...
Now then, my battle’s lost… Oh, God!
Black corpses etch the whitened Earth
And all this sweat, and all this blood
Is just to catch the true word’s worth...

Short but to the point.I say short because I can't seem to write ones of this length and be able to convey all I am feeling, thinking etc lol.You have captured so much in so few lines and the image magic you create with your words is excellent!
Well done with the first and last lines too.Opened well and rounded it off nicely!

Thank you very much. It's short - I guess it has to be so for the contest purposes. I'm glad that you liked it - though I'm sure it still needs work. I haven't written for a long while and so I'm happy to learn that I might still remember something about it.
Thanks again,

Jan
