Our Earth Mother

her life of
sponge moss
and
dust blown spores
pale boned

spidery forms
track the ocean floor

night flowers
bloom
in unseen light
and
dance beside
patient stones
in
shadow gardens

her
garland girth
and
veils of crystal seas
bend apart
and
touch our heart

no man
can track
her
sun cracked
sand

always evolving

cold quartz moon reflects
its glassy face
in hidden ponds
she braves
mud, fire, and earth
while bonded
to the stake
of
constant human toil

though planetary systems fail
sun, stars, and comets
though all must fall

                              ~~~but she~~~
who foraged
in weeds of earth
shared the blood
of flowers
she alone
knows the seeds of souls release
the fusing force
glowing source
a place where she
has always been
Author notes
she is the essence of winds change
where magic lives
    This one is a gentle waterfall of words.
    Fitting for the subject
    nature flows and tumbles always makes it to the sea
    we are the damned, dam builders in the way.
    I sometimes miss the City but access to nature is so vital to us all. It soothes, it calms
    hang on while I shut my door
    gunfire
    deer season began a few days ago
    Congrats on Gold
    This was lovely
    this is absolutely incredible
    congratulations... very well deserved... stark elements of nature in a kind of tranquil scene described by beautiful words a very unique combination that you managed to pull off quite well... intense...
    Congrats on your gold shiny.
    Nature that makes me want to bite things in this poem (that is a good thing).
    I can't say I am fond of the short lines that end with "of" and "and" they halt me in the flow a bit. So I read it more like this:
    her life of sponge moss
    and dust blown spores pale
    boned spidery forms
    track the ocean floor
    night flowers bloom
    in unseen light and dance
    beside patient stones in
    shadow gardens
    her garland girth
    and veils of crystal seas
    bend apart and touch our heart
    or something like that but obviously your style your personal poem choice. Just sharing some thoughts.
    I usually really find "tribute" poems cheesy. Nice job taking a tribute poem and making it bigger than a tribute poem. This is very Earth, Gaia..
    Yes, inspire people she does; through her poetry, her comments and her example to others. Thought this was a great way to pay tribute to Wanda.
    I was moved by your Imagery and alliterations. I smiled while reading the truths you shared...
    "her
    and
    veils of crystal seas
    bend apart
    and
    touch our heart"
    This is wonderful poetry and one that touches on the essence of who Wanda is as woman and as poet. I can see that you did your "homework" here and I really liked your voice. Truly a very lovely and touching tribute - thank you!
    Ohhh, this is a lovely piece, Poet. Thank you so much for writing such wonderful words in my honor. Funny you should mention "night flowers"; a dear Friend of mine wrote several poems for me, calling me "Cereus", since I seemed to bloom at night. Great, unique imagery throughout this penning. Good luck in the contest. Be well, Poet. Wanda
