[ whispered words ]

whispered words
of poisoned breath.
melt away
till there's nothing left.

it eats at you
from the inside out.
hit a dead end.
take a different route.

tap on a window.
knock on his door.
scream until
your lungs grow sore.

correct yourself
when you've done nothing wrong.
tell yourself
that you're not right
you've been incorrect all along.

break something,
and he'll make you pay.
you wonder if there's anything left
that he can take away.

a dying butterfly
on a blackened rose...
if there is a light in the dark,
it never shows.

a field of broken glass.
a 2 leaf clover.
you hope with all your heart
that it will soon be over.
