wisp warning wanders
deep woods:
potential death by
exposure to elements
(in violence unrestrained)
perpetual possibility
shiny scars
inflexible
haunted tissue
not quite
what it was
once
memories of pain
crushing cruelty
trembling dread
make me wary
yet...
comfort of
familiarity lures
me to you--
you are all
I looked up to
yet somehow
different
not implacable star
but encouraging warmth;
the greatness I recognize
uncontorted,
power trenching
waters of kindness
to my parched earth
respectful requests,
daily devotion
to my happiness
and comfort
manifested in
thoughtful gifts
of willing self
You are love
unconditional,
gentle goodness.
with joy I will walk
any path of your choosing
smiling die
at your side
for
with you
needless risk of self
does not exist

Wow what a strong write! You have indeed opened my eyes with this. It forces the reader to read it over and over again in complete fascination. Wonderful job, keep it up!

This can be interpreted on so many different levels,
1)nature's cruelty and kindness
2)cruel father,loving husband
3)cruel first husband, loving second husband,
4)human fickleness/emotional brutality, God's constancy.
You have something for everyone in this write. Well penned!
(I prefer to read it as #4)
