Before I Sleep

Missing image

I pause…

          spellbound
beneath sauvignon skies

as rain begins its march
                    across the meadow

I call back distant echoes
        of moments shared
from hidden alcoves of my soul

      an ambient ambrosia

of petal soft touches
                fondling their way
from thirsting parted lips
      onto tumid rings of color

as a satiated bloom
        weeps honeyed nectar
              in imminent fulfillment
a rising pinnacle
        (...revealing revelations of romance)
is now gently falling

like the vanishing patter of rain

calming
          comforting

taking me deep into
          soporific slumber

....dancing on fields of claret clouds

                                                  to music of the spheres

                                    touching the face of stars

I've been waiting to comment on this one...first, use the pic on your author's page...that is Mad Moon..and then some
secondly, I have always loved your rich use of language and poetic devices and this entry is filled with both.

Dearest friend, it is always a trip through the fascinating and variegated realm of dreams when I read your writes...and they always leave me breathless, no matter what it is about. I fell into the soporific slumber with you, trapped in a hazy dream that I had absolutely no intention of escaping from. Inevitably, I did anyway, because I was forced to wake up You write some of the most magnificent pieces I have seen on this site at any time. This is no exception to the rule.

I want to wish you the best of luck in the contest and let you know I am thinking of you and praying for you in all other aspects of life.

    Many blessings,

"Before I sleep I pause".....this started off with the "wow" factor. The rest just dripped down from that line. A very well written and beautiful poem. Very romantic and sensual. I love this. I'm sure Muddy will adore this too.

    outstanding

an outstanding piece of sensual poetry walking in carefully controlled balance the multiple dimensional border between sweet romance, raving lust, subtle eroticism, desires raw and desires fulfilled, body parts all over the place same as the mind trying to gather them together inside the one meaningful expression of your poetry.
