Death follows

Purple skies loomed above me
Blood stained clouds in its wake
And I ran out into the night
Feeling his breath on the back of my neck
Jaws snapping hungry
Sticky hands brushing against me like cobwebs
Rushing hopelessly, running helplessly
It was all I could do as the blood dripped
Ice cold down the length of my spine
Until I was drenched with it..
Blinded with tears, screaming soundlessly
I kept on running…
My heart thrashed against my chest
Beating the bars of my rib cage like a prisoner
Demanding to be freed…
Demanding to escape the madness
And I kept on running..
Unable to look over my shoulder
Lest he reaches out and grabs me
Unable to stop
Unable to escape
The hand of death heavy upon me
And I heard the casket slam shut
And his laughter rings mocking in my ears
