'On The Upswing'

Missing image
I still swing

on that small plate,

in gleeful wonder

hands burn and

squeeze the dual ropes

grasped to be held

with hopes,

in the bough's arms-

a high embrace

up, uP
somewhere

to Someone

like

You.

This drew smiles from sad ol' me - reminding me of childhood joy, and living in a simple, friendly world.

Thank you, and many 's to you.

    Very Good

This poem makes me feel like I should go for a swing at least once more in my life. I was mentally taken, too, to swings at small city carnivals and the fair. Have you ever ridden these. Thank you for making my day feel simpler with this poem that took me up up and away like when I'd swing and swing as high as a I could...back in those days when less was more and simply swinging was a really big thing.

THis hits the spot. It sets its sights nicely and then just does exactly what it is supposed to do.

    A lovely read

This takes me back down memory lane a bit. To swing on that old swing would wisk me into blissfulness. Thanks for the reminder.

    Beautiful carefree and dreamy

Oh this is wonderful Auntie Cookie has a feeling of being so carefree young at heart and happy....yet the escape of being taken into a higher place with the Lord oneday as you go up into the air on the swing it makes you reflect upon heaven and His love....Which leaves the ending beautiful....So over all within the fun and carefree joys of refreshment. Your humble heart shows the love for your Savior as you reflect upon Him......Thanks so much for your lovely comment on my last poem. Im so glad you thought it was alright I love you Aunt Cookie Much love, Sherry

    fun and dandy

Very cool. I like the story line and where it goes. It brought memories of fun times and then you had a little twist in the end bringing it to relationship/love thing. Nicely done.
