Towering stone walls of an underestimated prison
All seem to fall around her soft-spoken frame
Hands nestled at hips, cigarette perched on dry lips
Blowing a perfect ring as she strips rights at the door.
Metal detectors blare their treason at a moments notice
Pearly whites grind upon approach to sudden death
Silence hangs angelically in the balances around her
Whilst an exacto blade fidgets at her heel.
Running down disinfected hallways
Echo of her footsteps sounding in her ear
Flashing fake hall-passes at discredited security
Never changing her story along the way.
Once sacred bathrooms aren't even safe anymore
No privacy from peers and fo's, the trusted school staff
Swallowing mouthfuls of tequila on the beating tile
Eyes and nose burning with the smell of piss.
The mirror tells what is expected; she is a mess
Broken and dysfunctional just like her mother
Low-life boyfriend that never truly loved her
Is this what she's bargained for?
Swiftly dropping plaid skirt at blurry feet
A trembling hand reaches inside her boots
Carving in her skin, in the chipped paint of the stalls
Rusty pipes overhead glimmer through tears.
Her skirt, his tie, their tragedy
It all seemed to make sense until it ended
Overwhelmed with the pain of excuses and mistakes
Another victim of the system.

Author notes
In conclusion the girl hangs herself. The whole skirt and tie thing struck me as a school uniform. And there isnt much more to school but scandals and tragedy [oh and the whole "learning" thing lol]
-Sorry about the whole cut/suicide thing. I've been kind of doom and gloom lately.

I loved the how slant rhyme thing you have going on through out the poem. Very creative way to look at a skirt and tie.
