Lost Memoir

I peeled my mind of the side of the head,
that recollects ripped off dregs
floating in a cocktail of dizzying loss.

it stings on my lips,
when I speak your name.

I peeled back pages of leather bound book,
looking for a memoir of you.
just to prove you exist.

I can’t even feel your magic,
crawl underneath my plastic sandals

your wig quivered like a silken veil,
your breasts branched sewers of self-created poison,
your body caved with crumbling grace.

you were crushed under a tonne of machinery,
and deafened by a symphony of beeps

the merged paper and ink words you read out loud,
meant every sun beam in the morning sea

but now I can’t find a glossy chronicle,
to remind me of your choral reef eyes.

Author notes

I wrote a bit of this when I was drunk, so it's kinda odd
It's about my Godmother, she died of breast cancer when I was 4

--that was by far one of the most amazing stanzas I have EVER read. Not just from you, but from poets I read from. wow... it was amazing.

I'm sorry to hear about this honey. But I can relate to this 100%. when I was younger, I lost someone who was like a big brother to me. I lost him to heroin. sometimes it's hard to imagine that they were ever there because they've become so out of reach.

I thought this was a beautiful, heartfelt poem and I'm sure where ever she is now, heaven or even reincarnated, I'm sure that she feels your love.

    lots of love
