Night Hope

Undone by Mercy

You render sighs from my mouth

with tender truths

luminous within your harvesting eyes.

Drifting on your sacred breath,

desire rippling underneath my ribs,

I am undone by mercy.

You offer your soul freely with both hands,

sowing my fields fervently

with your wildly whispered prayers

to this sultry night sky ~

I am soothed by your echoing plea.

Holding me closely,

we sway to music only we can hear.

You paint my life

with the generous colors

of your language,

serene & knowing.

The stars inhale your bold adoration

& new galaxies are borne aloft.

Lifted by your strength,

I fall into believing

that all things are possible

when you are near.

The wind murmurs quietly

through the forest of your heart,

moving me with its song.

    and where I see

the glitter of eyes gazed upon the blossomed flower
butterfly promises rest gently on her brim
she fragrants the air to flutter it's wings
dancing with her sway..in a love songs breeze
and when night falls she enfolds to slumber in dreams
love fills heart with memories of her butterfly's wings.

your writes are so beautiful...and I see my own thoughts come alive to it...

well, you would be a favorite if you had never written a word. You and I have always had that real side. Even traveled the same paths. But, you are first a dear dear friend...then my editor..lol
You lace your words with true meaning and honesty...not an easy task
Hope is a word that bears your picture in the dictionary..
    I love this entry

Ya know I adore ya, Muddy. I tell ya so often 'nough. You're one of the purest Souls I know. When Shakespeare wrote "To thine own self be true", he somehow already knew YOU would be. YOU are filled with why I love art in its many varied forms, be it poetry, music, art...& we'll always have McPherson as a bond. I don't believe in coincidences, Richard. I think God puts certain people in our path at certain times for specific reasons. Not all are meant to stay. I'm glad we cruise the same scenic highways, Dear Heart. If I don't see ya (for real) in this lifetime, I'll catch up with ya in the next one. I owe ya a few bigazzhugs. Thanks for hosting, Scribe. Most of all, thanks for Being, my Friend.

All things...all things...all things are possible for you, for me, for these friends of ours who know a good phrase when they see one... "I will judge in about an hour to give you all a chance to edit as needed…. Please check over your work and I will return for second comments." stunning!!!!!!

    nice

I read this poem about mercy.
Why is there no one for me?
Yea I have people leave comments.
None that stay like Arabs in tents.
The camel outside where I sleep.
Snores. Pimple on my back can't keep.
I've never had a back rub.
An oasis of mud is my tub.
    Ah! even the star canopies.
Makes me wish for a Wendys.
You can tell I have feet odor.
    The scorpions never come closer.
My parents went to the states.
My sister has a lady for dates.
They laugh at the sight of my tunic.
Full of grease stains and ketchup.
I'm not going to blow up buses.
For virgins with moles on their noses.
I had a book of poetry.
The monkey used it to pee.
Allah Allah I'll bow to the North.
Send me an Eskimo to cook my broth.
What the hell! I'll become a saint.
If the caravan cook kisses me I'll faint.
She's got seven kids. They eat before us.
They steal, make noise and scream and cuss.
Enough, there is a Rabbi and a Priest
In the next village - lives with my niece.
She'll let me sleep outside near the stalls.
She hides me away when the mullah calls.
This is my life it ain't Sanskrit.
It's good old plain English lit.
I flunked out of college. Couldn't write for beans.
But your lovely poem gives me lovely night dreams.

Wanders, this is magnificent! So many well turned phrases, and expert use of metaphor....as is usual for you! Suddenly I feel so 'outdone." LOL! The gentleness and sensuality of this write touches the heart ever so softly. But, my favorite lines have to be the ending ones (and it was REALLY hard to choose!): ..."The wind murmurs quietly through the forest of your heart, moving me with its song...." Such a perfect ending to this beautiful write! Brava!!

I love so many phrasings within this, I kept pausing to explore infinite permutations in each. Your poetry so often raises creative sparks, inspiring lines of arrangement and thought that might, otherwise, have passed unnoticed. "rippling underneath my ribs," for example - just the combinations from that alone: rippling ribs; rippled ribs; ribbed ripples; rib rippling; rib ripples and so on ... each a unique image. You dear lady are a fount of all things poetic

I quite admire your belief in all things beautiful. You say them well, and with conviction. Lovely sentiments dear lady.

Thank you for your kind words. Indeed, I do believe. I also know, without a doubt, that there is duality in all things; I acknowledge the shadows as well as the sun. I believe that while survival can be brutal, life remains beautiful. While I am all too familiar with the dark side of things, I put my focus intentionally on the hopeful side. It makes for a better quality of life, offering contentment instead of the fleeting moments inherent in happiness & sadness. Thanks for coming by, Cinnarry. Be well, Poet. Wanda

A sultry song this is, yet it is delicate too...both qualities of wildflowers...like a flower in the wind this one sways and moves. Lovely penning, Vlindertjie... I was thinking of a line from one of Robbie Williams' songs "and I come undone"....what a way to come undone at the hands of a lover . Lovely, just sighingly lovely...sighs! Good luck in Richard's contest (not that you would need it)!!
