Torn between two places of gold,
One new; the other old.
Separated by time and space,
I want no other to replace.
Torn between my love and life,
My body caught in a bitter strife.
Jumping fast into blinding black,
Knowing I will never get time back.
Torn by the words I wish to speak,
Their deeper meaning is what I seek.
I wish not to leave you, my best friend,
It will be to long ‘til my heart mend.
Torn by the realization that all is changed,
For nothing past I wish exchanged.
Forever I will remember our days,
Even when on me cows graze.

This is so very true. My grandmother would say watch what bridges you wanted to burn because sometimes there is no going back to rebuild relationships.Thank you for your write have a great day.
