Tiny Farmer

Missing image

Tiny Farmer

Tiny farmer within your field
wonder what your crop will yield
planting now in tiny rows
little fingers, little toes

Tiny farmer what's that there?
A patch of soft, wispy hair?
Is that freckles that I see
upon your tiny freckle tree?

Tiny farmer do your part
plant in sections, tiny heart
some for mom, and some for dad
some for siblings, make them glad

Tiny farmer it's seasons close
rest your head now; softly doze
hold your dreams, settle down
spread your smile, erase your frown

Tiny farmer time has come
to meet your dad, meet your mum
burst into a world of love
gentle
cries, soft as a dove

~

Hours of agony, and pain.

Months of swollen feet and backaches.

All for this tiny person

that now rests it's gentle head on my breast,

listening to the lullaby of my heartbeat.

A close inspection of the fingers, toes, arms, legs,

and the patch of wild wispy hair on top it's wild fluffy head.

The Doctor says it grew it's heart so well, strong beats.

I smile.

Now, what shall we name this tiny farmer?

Author notes

OK, I have an overactive imagination and once when I went for a sonogram the doc said "it's growing it's heart". In my mind I saw a tiny farmer in the womb growing all the things it needed. Fingers, toes, heart...

That is where this came from. Not my best as I wrote it in like 15 minutes, but hey...I wanted to get it out before it was gone.

I simply chalk it up to my vastly overactive, and overfed imagination. Thank you for the most exuberant comment my new found friend.

this was so sweet it had heart, and to me thats the most important part, if theirs no heart nothing reaches out to the reader. this is great, good job!

I can't believe this only took you 15 minutes! thats awesome! the metaphor is also very deep for farmers and the art of the tree is very seed philosophy, I personnally loved working in the vineyards when we were training the young vines, taking away the buds that would scatter the growth and leaving the ones in which would crown unto the future of great yeld... anyheys much love and wisdom unto your future joy w pancakes -JAS

Thank you for such a deep and wonderful comment. Here I thought my imagination was odd comparing a fetus to a farmer. lol. I am glad you enjoyed this. Yeah, sometimes my muse just spews things forth in a quick burst and it is ok,and sometimes I strain for hours over a poem and it sucks. Thanks again and blessings be.
