Her red-brown fur glinted
By rays emitted by the sun.
Tiny rainbows everywhere formed
And danced upon her with little care.
Majestically sitting upon her throne,
She contains herself among rocks and scented pine.
Her haven, the forest teems of her aura
As she gazes upon hills with a sapphire glow.

I grew up in Colorado and therefore was constantly aware of the cougar's presence, though sadly I have only seen mountain lions in captivity. They are absolutely marvelous creatures, and a perfect object for presenting the image of "glow" as requested by the contest hostess. I mentioned in another comment I left a poet in this contest that I think alpine glow is itself a beautiful image, and you have combined it here with an equally wonderful gift of nature.

Living in South Africa I can very much identify with the images you’ve painted here of a mountain lion – a majestic animal indeed. Your poem allowed the reader to see and enjoy some of the king of the jungle’s aura and glow – well done. Thank you so much for this entry.
