Daniel

I stare into the picture of the little boy I once knew,
the one who protected me, played with me,
taught me to read, and in "bad" times stole my favorite cookie for me.
I stare into the eyes of the little boy that once loved me so much,
that I still look up to.
I waited ten years to see those eyes and that smile that made me giggle so much as a girl.
I waited to say so many unspoken words.
I waited for you.
I don't know where that little boy went,
the one who always smiled and laughed.
He left along time ago,
leaving smiles and games,
cartoons and toys,
and me.
In return for that wide eyed boy,
the one who's my big brother,
theres now and empty and cold man.
Who doesn't smile or laugh,
who's always full of anger and hate,
who's eyes are cold and dim.
I almost feel like creating a grave for that little boy,
he died so long ago,
and left you.
Empty smiles and bitter words,
a diseased heart and a cursed life.
A farewell of sorts to you whom I knew only in what seems as a dream.
