Does not feel the irony of
The simple lack of love
Straining against, beyond the Law
Tablet
Reading mighty wills
Trembling, shaking, stills
Yearning for what kept him warm
The same blood in me
Sharing that and more
See what my eyes cannot see
Sweating through your pores
Knifing neatly through my
Ribcage, half-formed bone
Staring at a bright sky
Finding you're alone
Ride a giant steed
Recalling my bright orbs
Feel one-sided greed
In that burnt-off globe
Tether taut
Forget-me-not
Feeling, thought
Alas that half of Mother's brood was caught
Author notes
I recently watched a documentary about ancient myths, and they mentioned the Amazons, how they never needed men except to procreate. In fact, they apparently kept only their female newborn. So I tried to imagine what would happen if one of these Amazons gave birth to a set of twins, male and female.
Anyway, that was my inspiration. Please, enjoy.

While I understand sidewinder's point of view, it annoys me. How often have we seen patriarchal societies where it is the woman who seems to be unwanted? Hiding behind sheets, cursed to be aborted, because only one child is allowed...etc.
I like the perspective of this a lot, though, interesting view.

I wouldn't have wanted to live within that society.
born into prejudice
found only as outcast
crime? being male.
it gives one a bleak point of view!
Interesting perspective!~
Keep penning on one stroke at a time!

A rather educational concept lol very heart-felt from the brother's point of view, perhaps the injustice he felt as his sister is allowed to live when he feels that they are of the same blood and so shouldn't really be treated differently. That's my thought anyway. Wonderful piece and keep up the good work!

Interesting concept. Well thought out. It would be interesting to know the truth about the Amazons. Not knowing, anything goes.

ah very interesting. I had to reread it after reading your authors notes. Did not get that the first time around. I wish you would have expanded more on the female only aspect that is causal to this poem. Thats the part that intrigued me the most.
Keep up the good work!!
