What did I ever see in her?

She was one of the best friends I'd ever had
She knew what I was thinking before I thought it sometimes
And...I thought she loved me

I thought I loved her
But I was wrong
She may have known what I thought sometimes but...
...she never understood it
She also never understood me
I thought that she did
But she didn't

I even thought I understood her at one point
But it was just a mistake
What I thought was love was just a desire to have affection
She only wanted to be noticed by someone that cared
My problem was that I cared too much

She took my heart
But there was something she still didn't understand
She couldn't keep my heart forever
She might have been able to had she loved me but no

Eventually I was able to see through it
I see the truth
She still looks just as cute
But not as sweet

I did love her for a time
But all in vain
I wonder what I saw in her in the first place

In the begininng she was the one that asked and I said yes
The second time I was the one that asked and she said yes
But it still didn't work so it was ended for a second time

And yet we were still close friends
One day she came over and we talked about all the good times
But in the middle she just started crying little tears

I couldn't stand to see her cry
I still can't seem to handle the true tears of another
But I asked her again and it seemed like it would last this time
Alas no it did not

So all I can do is wonder where did we go wrong?
And all I can think of is that...
...maybe we were never meant for each other and it was just a meaningless hope

All I can say is that it's over
It was good times
But I shall never go back again

I shall look for a new happiness
And hopfully it can be a true happiness
