Expressing my gratitude, exposing my heart
I pour my deep thoughts out and bare my soul
Letting my Creator see for himself what I am
Emotions speak words of praise and thankfulness

When my eyes are closed my heart is open wide
The world and the mundane are forgotten, only
The grandeur of the Creator my soul meditates
Appreciating the wonderful gifts bestowed upon me

It is then I feel the smallness of me and the helplessness
Surrendering to the Almighty, my burden is released
Freed of my guilty consciousness and pride, I rejoice
Held lovingly in the gossamer wings of the Creator
~*~
My needs are met and my deeds are divinely guided
My thoughts are focused on the only two that matters
Love I embrace and service becomes my life purpose
Revived by the wisdom of Almighty, I am a new man

Well put Joel. I can't help but think that life is just that, service. It comes in all forms though, service to the spirit (yours and others), service to the earth (both nature as well as man) and service to humanity (the good, the bad and the ugly).
Of course, there are plenty out there in service to themselves... and it seems to me that chaos and darkness feed from these people... and so... they are in essence, serving a compilation of dark energies.
