ever always never near here

fuck me with your platitudes and minimize
the magnitude of my trauma.  my wanton
want is misplaced, as are my faith and
reckless hope.
in time i despise the crack of your grin,
that malicious maw--spewing vexation
as endless as forever. and you so
ready to prevaricate.  so eager to lead
ON.
my misdirected enamoredness is mottled
the dirty hue of skewed perception, of
incomplete pictures and fragmented
figures.  figuratively speaking, always.
always.

and.
what-the-fuck-ever.
reigns.

I like the way it runs as if the words trip over each other in an effort to rush out and share the anger.

Dangerous storm require that we stay away from windows, as wind gusts can blow them out and scar us for life, if not kill us. Poetic windows are not the same thing. But in either case, it requires of the observer to find truth in a way that requires being patient with oneself. Resentments are like taking poison and expecting someone else to get sick (or worse, someone else takes the poison and we get sick...which is what co-dependants do).
I processed my pain for years through poetry, including thoughts of self-harm. It took hell & high-water and surviving through it all through God's help, for me to survive MEANINGFULLY. Me, I like to believe I totally understand the validity of your message here. All good things are an inside job (or else they run our lives). If they ain't paying rent in my head, I evict them).
    Peace Through Love~

A disjointed, angular mouthful of pain and disbelief, like shards of glass left from the broken mirror. This piece breathes the loathing both of self and of the one which inspired the confusing contradiction found between love and disgust. Even the title speaks of this contradiction, implying further the depth and term of deception now perceived.

This hurts to read. It seems like it hurt to write.

Well, this is certainly not the type of poem you want to inspire, even if it is the type a great poet wants to write. Great choice of words throughout, like "prevaricate" which uses assonance in concjunction with "endless," "forever," "eager," "lead," and "enamoredness," all of which immediately precede and follow the expression. Similarly, nice use of consonance and alliteration throughout the poem, such as (but by no means limited to) the repetition of "m" and "f" with "misdirected enamoredeness is mottled" and "fragmented figures. figuratively speaking."

Most of all, though, it is the raw anger that permeates the work that gives it its force. It starts with a bang, and ends with one. Well, done Stephanie.
