As a scout there's many a story
That I could tell you of our glory
But also of the harder parts
The bits that break my little heart
For instnace I remember a time
when we thought canoeing would be fine
But we didn't count on - of course
One of the girls screaming until she was hoarse
As it turned out, her fear was set
Of falling in and getting wet
Then there was another day
That was hot, so we did play
With some nice big water guns
To attack all the other ones.
Someone had the bright idea
Of soaking a guy we slightly feared
Afterwards he got a bigger gun
And got each of us back one by one
I must say that any day
I would go down to scouts and play
Because we have just so much fun
Really - it's for anyone!
But then you get those times
That really bring out the laughter lines
Author notes
I'm a scout in Australia (yes, I'm a girl) and it really is great to think of all these memories - it was really hard to write about just 2
