Mum, you mean the world to me,
But I never really knew,
What it meant to be a mum,
Till I became one too,
24 hours a day on call,
Eyes in the back of your head,
Wiping endless tears away,
Keeping us warm and fed,
Answering the questions,
Of our inquisitive minds,
Offering a helping hand,
When we get into binds,
Lending us some money,
When yet again we've none,
Mumbled thanks, a downward glance,
Then out the door, we're gone,
It's been years and years,
Of putting children first,
Even when we seemed to be,
At our very worst,
Now that we have grown,
We can see how much is true,
How you scrimped and saved,
But never bought things for you,
So this is just one way,
To say thanks for what you've done,
We love, cherish and respect you,
Our best friend, Our Mum.

Very beautiful present for Mother's Day! The best part is this poem is not only universal, but shows a tremendous amount of love and thoughtfulness. Lucky Mom!

I like this, very moving, and a good use of rhyme, what an interesting gift for mothers day...I usually make do with some chocs and some flowers lol! X
