you couldn't quite decipher
the secret of a
palindrome;
hannah had some quality
that made your brain want to ring
an empty bell
and puns were just phrases
with some sort of catch,
but you couldn't find
the glove -
and all the while
you were writing nonsense
that somehow turned into
both.
