To: the girl I was when I was ten
If I had a chance I would say
That you would grow up fine
Don’t be in such a hurry dear
To grow up and make choices
If I had a chance I would say
That you would find someone
For each friend that you lose
In your heart they will remain
If I had a chance I would say
Don’t grow up afraid of future
To look ahead, that’s something
Past shouldn’t be feared my dear
And if I had a chance, I would say
You are incredible; enjoy this time
It won’t come again- this innocence
So treasure all these rare moments
Most of all, I'd love to whisper
In your ears that you are special
Friends may not be there now, and
Life may be getting a little hard
But dear you will make it just fine
So don’t give up this faith darling
Enjoy this precious time you have,
Don’t be in such a hurry to grow up
