Letter to the future

Missing image

Dear little one,

I know how scared you are right now.

You never know if you are going stay where you are.
You are always being moved around. You feel lost.
Constant abuse from your mother and step-mother has made
you feel unworthy of happiness.  The pain from the beatings left scars

on your soul and made you question why. It's not your fault. You are entitled to be loved, it is just something inside of them, not you.

You have dreams that have yet to come true, but believe in them
and yourself and you will be amazed at what your life can turn into.

They are important to you but have been torn apart by hurtful words that

spew from the mouth of your caretakers.

I know how much you tried to make your parents love you , but you were not  a bad little girl, you were learning and you made mistakes. They made the biggest mistakes by not being kind to you.

All the hurts and the tears you have cried in your fear and loneliness was something  no child should ever go through.
Your innocence was taken from you because you had to take care of yourself in so many different situations because no one really cared.  You were strong for a little girl.

I want you to know that  you will make it. I can attest to that.
You will have your own children that will love you unconditionally
as  you will  love them. You will be a wonderful mother and caretaker.
You will grow into a woman that is loved because she understands the pain
in human beings and will not cause them anymore but will offer them a shoulder and guidance.

Don’t let anyone bring you down and you will make it.
I love you.

Love
Older one

Author notes

A letter to a younger me. I tried to write the best I could without making it sound so unrealistic. My childhood was a big mess but I am through all that.
I wanted to share so that maybe this will offer hope to someone else going through this.

I've tried commenting on this a few times now and each time my eyes mist over.  This really stuck a chord (well, several) with me. I identify with this on a few levels and find that I need to have this discussion with my inner child. So much healing to be done and the first step is dropping in on myself saying hi, been a while and, I love you so much.

You've take us on a journey with you though, nothing compared to the actual events of your life, it was indeed a painful one. My heart is so full of thanksgiving that you've overcome your past. So many do not and live with such torment.

So sorry for the ramble. You've penned this from heart and soul with so much love, wisdom and understanding. Fantastic job. Thank you so much for entering and best of luck to you.

    Bella

Important step. When your inner child comes to you arms open and cries something inside becomes soft instead of hard. When your inner child is a fraid and comes to you instead of hiding, something becomes stronger and you open your doors a little wider and the smile runs deeper into your heart. I know. I am united with mine. Keep the hands open and be kind to yourself. I know that you shall succeed it sings, the love, in all of your words.
    Love, Tom B.
