Love is necessary

A life without love
is unimaginable to me

like saying you have only one hand
and missing the other one;
nothing is complete

there are various kinds of love -
mother for child,
child for parents
husband for wife
the love of self
the love of freedom
to what you like

love is more than touch
it is a feeling that
rests deep in the heart
one that keeps us
searching until we find
those who mean
the world and more

we would give ourselves
for those we love
not being frightened to
die to save others

Isn't this what Jesus did?

I love the simplicity of this work. Yes, yes, and yes once more. All you've expressed here is truth to me. Yes again...Jesus did do just as you so eloquently state here in the last line of the poem. I Love the title and everything about the poem. I like the fact that you expressed the different forms of love because there are many ways and people we can love in a lifetime. Excellent work poet.

Thank you for this entry and the best to you.

    Much LOVE ♥

I love this. Love is many things. Love is deeper than the four little letters it spells. Love is infinite. I wish you luck in the contest.

    I love this part:
    we would give ourselves
    for those we love
    not being frightened to
    die to save others
