What you perceive as nightmares

Author notes
If I had to pick and age in which this conversation mighthave taken place I would say this was me talking to myself when I was about six...wish it could have happened, who knows the difference it would have made.

oh my sweetie, this just about broke my heart. sounds like a rough road you traveled and i'm so sorry you had to take that journey alone but listen, you are where you are now and although things may still be rough, you have some people in your life that think you're very, very special and i happen to be one of them 
you just keep nurturing that inner child because as old as we get, they sty with us and they still need to be held and comforted and loved, i know mine does

This just broke my heart. From beginning to end, so beautiful, sad and gut wrenching. I could see you holding her close, giving her the affection she needed while saying all this. I know this comes from your heart and soul. So much wisdom you give her...though all of this, your last two lines give so much hope. Excellent penning. Thank you for entering and best of luck to you.
