Ode of a Portugese Artichoke

I said
"abragado"
that means
thank you,

I was always taught to use manners.

some act like
they never head
the word
before,

where were they born?

I hear
canibals
like to
eat me,

I want to know where to buy a can of bulls.

Some say
they boil me
til tender,

why should I say thank you for that?

there is
too much
prejudice
against green,

Green is as fine a color as red.

some say
we are
stupid
vegetables,

Like they need a brain to think that.

Author notes

If you eat artichokes- your a bigot too

      Thank you

Sometimes It's best to be like Will Rodgers
plain speakin' and common as taters or in this case common as a Brazilian Artichokes - lol come to think of it - I don't think they are so rare- just rarily served-
Thanks a heapin' heapin' with butter on top

I do not eat them, for I do not have a taste for them, though I will eat my greens, but not the Artichoke.
