the Nervous Stand.

Twas just a wink of the eye.

  The nod of his head.

Her gentle sigh.

  That silly grin.

The wave of good-by.

The breathless whisper.

  His heavy sigh.

She dropped her hankie.

  He gave a salute.

The look again after going by.

He slipped a note for the dance.

  She left her calling card.

Then came the hankie and roses.

  She though she would die.

He came to call with a nervous stand.

Oh this is wonderful! I can feel the butterflies in the pit of my stomach from the flirtations written here. I smiled at the third stanza. What a delightful entry. You have worked well with the prompt my friend. Thank you for this entry and I wish you the very best.
