Summer Sun in Winter's Dark

The dappled sunlight dances through the green
of summer's trees and lights my way ahead;
I step through summer's shade in air so clean
with cool sweet grass on each bare-footed tread.
A smile awakens and I feel a tune
is waiting for its moment on my tongue,
And every step's as light as morning dew
And every breath is freshness in my lungs.
In summer's sun it's never hard to see
the wonders of the world and all its charm,
the fragrance from the rose convinces me
that nothing I can dream of means me harm.
But what a blessing for the one who finds
the summer sun when winter's darkness blinds.

Please tell me what you think
