The Worst Boy Scout in the World

Well I hate to admit it in public, but I was the worst boy scout in history.
How I made it through all though camping trips and campfires is still a big mystery.
I hated sleeping in a tent, I was used to a nice warm bunk in our cottage.
I hated cooking my meals on an open fire, most times I ate my hot dogs raw.
Most of the time at camp I felt like I was held hostage.
I couldn’t swim worth two beans, I hated canoeing to no end.
I nearly drove all the counselors around the bend.
To sum up my friends I had to have been the world worst boy scout in history, of that I’m sure.

Any doubts this is a true story, you can call my little brother, he hated camping and scouting as well.

Starts well
But then the scansion is broken and the rhyming scheme gets lost. I have to be able to say a poem out loud, and this just doesn't work, but with a birth of jiggery pokery
Well I hate to admit it in public,

I had raw hot-dogs instead
I couldn't swim worth a couple of beans
I hated canoeing no end
I nearly drove the councillors
Halfway round the bend
Most of the time in Camp I felt
Like a prisoner held secure
To some it up I must have been
The worst boy scout I'm sure
Well that would be how it comes out in my style, each to their own :-)

I know that feeling and have experienced it many times in other places.
