To Roam Free
When i lay down upon my bed,
My last breaths drawing near,
I think of what's next in my line,
Of all that i hold dear.
Yet i do not cry for sorrow,
I cry for the joy i'll find,
Will Roaming free with the pack,
Releasing the beast deep in my mind.
When i come back my spirit strong,
I'll find i have four paws,
Running free with my pack,
Obeying only natures laws.
I am a wolf hunting prey,
Protecting my cubs from harm,
Sleeping by night under the stars,
Listening for my instincts alarm.
My bodies strong and graceful,
I've left all my fears behind,
Nothing but predatory instinct,
My soul and nature entwined.
So when i lay down upon my bed,
My last breaths drawing near,
I think of what is next for me,
And i realise death holds no fear.
Author notes
Hope you like this. I have always believed in reincarnation and i will one day be able to roam free with the pack.
Enjoy

A wonderful poem...being one with nature...I too believe that death is not to be feared. I love wolves they are beautiful animals.
This was a pleasure to read

Hi, wolves are wonderful creatures, only one problem if you came back as a wolf you would have very little chance of survival. man have stolen the natural habitat, you would be hunted down without pity by both land and air, but yes to be a wolf I can understand, I wold say as long as their are no humans around, all the best in the contest, sweet poem.Di
