Further On

After the day that ended my strife
faster than pictures or sentences that splayed
a frame of scimitars ducking to dive
from faith left me away

After the way that heartened my life
harder than strictures or fanciful actions that stayed
a name in imitators wishing to ride
on the Fifth Light of Day

I was there
I had at last
A widow's stare
A stone uncast

    Profound

That last stanza is the most powerful of the three, In my (humble) opinion ... I like this poem as it allows plenty of room for the reader to "wallow" and interpret. Something about the "widow's stare ... a stone uncast" has me thinking. A delightful, thought-provoking piece.

yes it's quite common for pieces written through me to have the last few lines in a completely different structure: this one's a good example.
