Loneliness and sorrow,
That's come from times before,
Surround the small stone circle,
The Nine Ladies of Stanton Moor,
The ladies danced upon the Sabbath,
Which the gods could not condone,
So they exacted punishment,
And turned the girls to stone,
Seeing the stone circle,
A sadness fills the air,
Where once were maidens dancing,
Nine cold grey stones are there,
Listen to the silence,
Over all of Stanton Moor,
Perhaps you can hear the music,
Like the ladies of years before.

Bravo!
You are a very talented poet.
This is well written and I enjoyed reading it- I read it out loud-
one small suggestion: I think you could do without the word "nine" in the 4th line. It is smoother without it and you mention the number in line 12.
I hope you don't mind suggustions- I always appreciate them- and often I don't take them- I won't be offended if you don't:-)

Thank you. Stanton Moor is a lovely spiritual place to visit with a nice little story about the stones. I love going there.

I have places that I tend to go that I really liked, like the local river, I could sit there for hours, its beautiful...and I've written poetry about it. Sometimes you just feel like writting about it, and that is what I liked about your poem Keep writing! X
