Sitting on the sofa,
Curled up nice and small,
Looking at the TV set,
Standing by the wall,
Soap opera's and films,
Are perfectly okay,
But watching the cartoons,
That's what makes my day,
Pinky and Perky,
Cloppa Castle too,
And one about an elephant,
I think called Little Blue,
Babapapa, Mumfy,
The Clangers, Mr Benn,
It takes me back to my childhood,
When I was only ten,
I think it's just The Wombles,
Shown on TV today,
I don't think children nowadays,
Like cartoons made this way,
I don't much care for the grown up world,
You realise things too soon,
I want to be back on my sofa,
Just watching my cartoon.
Author notes
This is about my favourite time as a child. Curling up on the sofa on a Saturday morning to watch the cartoons.

Cute
I used to love watching cartoons on Saturday morning!!! I love the flow of this poem and the rhyme is wonderful! I absolutely LOVE this!!! It's cute, and yet:
"I don't much care for the grown up world,
You realise things too soon,
I want to be back on my sofa,
Just watching my cartoon. "
adds just a bit of a more serious tone. Thanks for entering! Best of luck in the contest!
