Inside The Nightmare

In the darkest depths of reality,
Convulsing as in death,
Growing, Awakening, Forming,
Grabbing at life with every breath,

Open eyes not seeing,
Silence from every sound,
Reaching forward with taloned hands,
Dragging blackness all around,

Shadows in the corners,
Everywhere you turn,
Invisible voices scream and laugh,
As you watch reality burn,

Writhing, Twisting, Falling,
Without light the creatures thrive,
Begging, Pleading, Shouting,
Will you ever get out alive?,

Fingers torn and bleeding,
From frantic scratching on the wall,
Your body jerks with no control,
As you try to stop your fall,

Fear wraps around you,
Terror in your eyes,
Sweating, Grasping, Crying,
Then the nightmare finally dies,

Your mind is battered and broken,
As you reach towards the light,
Reality bites and wakens you,
From the horrors of the night,

But deep within you feel it,
Hanging by a thread,
And it will drag you under,
When you next lay down your head,

In the darkest depths of reality,
Everywhere you turn,
Hellish forms surrounding you,
As you watch your sanity burn.
