The format of this snippet has a lot of a haiku actually

I really don't want summer to be gone though.

A perfectly depicted miniature word-picture. And I think "gone" is the right word-choice, because it chimes in nicely with "can."

I like this. My only querie is if you could change last word, but that is more personal prefference [perhaps something like - faded, absent] etc.
But yeah, other than that, this piece expresses alot in minimal but not simple terms.
