an angel once sat under this oak tree
all alone and frightened as one could be
not a single soul in this world that possible cared
hungry, cold, and deadly scared
he thought nobody could possible care for him
his eye sight almost gone, and very dim
his blue eyes shine, and within them kindness lingers
he has aged hands, and long boney fingers
and a face so gentle and shows tender care
but life is hard and isn't fair
he uses this tree as some shelter from the snow
a small coat full of holes, for comfort from the harsh wind blow
no shoes upon his cold frozen feet
mabey one day someone kind he will meet
someone nice enough to give him shelter and a warm bed
something soothing sit down and eat, like soft warm bread
he slowly closes his tired worried eyes
as his earthly body is gone, and his soul lifted to the skies
he opens his eyes to a bright shinning light
it was so brilliant it shone more than the blinding sun
he looked around at a beautiful land
as a small girl takes his hand
together they walk down a street of gold
not knowing what their path may behold
together they walk out of sight
they both arre now loved and are taken care of right
never again to be cold or alone
he sweetly smiles down at his granddaughter and says....
"heaven is now our true home"
Please tell me what you think
