Blood Red And Going Down

Georgian sun,
blood red, and setting
matching my inner rain
I watch it set, across the waters
And think about my pain

I’m on my own
In a world of dreams
But were happy just months ago
Now thinking of going away
taking my baby across the bay

My true love betrayed me
time and time again…
I need time to mend

Does love ever really last?
Little did I know,
just a few years down the road
his true colors would show.

He gave me a baby
And treated me like a queen,
I was thinking “he’s the one”
marring without a thought
Going against all I’ve been through
without thinking of what I was taught.

Sitting alone, on the bay,
thinking of my wedding gown
Watching that Georgian sun,
blood red and going down.

Author notes

This poem barely describes how I'm feeling right now, knowing the one I love is a lie.

If you only knew the whole story, trust me, you'd know. But that's okay, no big deal, i was just writing how I feel
