They say those things
And pretend they care,
But behind their masks of sympathy
They are laughing at my inability
To shake their brutal authority.
And what can I say?
So I close my eyes,
Clench my fists,
And let the red waves of hate wash over me,
The fury erupt within me,
The fiery frustration and anger take over my mind,
Burn me to the core,
Until all I can feel,
All I can hear or smell or taste,
All I can see
Is the scalding, sweltering, scorching scarlet,
The searing crimson of rage.
