I wait for the clock
On my nightstand to turn 12
Impatient I sneek out of bed
Smiling at the fact
I went to bed in jeans
And a Sweatshirt
I tip-toe to my window
And quietly as possible
I slide it open
Cursing my luck as it squeaks
And listening to see
If anyone is awake
I breathe a sigh of relief
No apparent foot steps
I put a leg
Out the window
Then the other
And slowly slide
To the side of the roof
Lifting myself
Over the side to the drain spout
Bracing the siding
And letting myself
Slide down to the ground
Feeling a moment of brilliance
As it was I
Who discovered this
Wonderful means of sneaking out
I lightly step around the house
And to the road
Walking around the corner
To the car with its lights off
I open the door
And hop in
Feeling that certain excitement
I feel when I'm with you
We drive off into the night
Another night
We both sneak out
Because this is after all
A secret love
Between you and me
