For Greg

The day we met,
We found out so many,
Things that we share,
Theres way more than twenty.

Our life's been hard,
Our birthday's the same,
We run the whole world,
As if it's our game.

We became friends,
You always picked on me,
But I'll get you back,
One day, You'll see.

Our game is our life,
We live it to the best,
Making the money,
The law is our test.

We made it together,
With straight A's,
But then we stopped chillin,
for a couple of days.

I couldn't find you,
I thought you got caught,
Being on the run,
Isn't as fun as I thought.

I found a friend,
Who told me they know,
They took you in an ambulance,
I thought it was the blow.

I freaked out for days,
Until the one night,
I came home late,
And was ready for a fight.

I looked on my deck,
Seeing my mom,
She looked so mad,
I was ready for the bomb.

When all of a sudden,
My face just lit up,
You ran out of my house,
And gave me a hug.

I had found out,
You escaped from jail,
I was glad you were okay,
And happy it wasn't rails.

Things were back to normal,
Still on the run,
Committing crimes,
Was just so much fun.

Feel the adrenaline,
Heart beats fast,
Pop the ignition,
Then floor the gas.

(My feelings had changed,
Even though I was with Chad,
I started to like you,
Did we share what I had?

We had some munchies,
From the drive thru,
We started talking,
By then I thought you knew.

I kept it secret,
From you so long,
I'm so glad I did,
It would've turned out wrong.)

We became such good friends,
Always together,
I hope that you know,
I'll remember you forever.

Now you're locked up,
You failed that last test,
I think it's time,
To give crime a rest.

I miss you so much,
Like you don't even know,
When you come out,
I hope you lay off the blow.

It has changed you,
You're not the same,
I know shit is hard,
But life's just a game.

I like that you call me,
Everyday from there,
I wish I could see you,
This shit isn't fair.

I went to the court house,
Thinking I was leaving with you,
They said five months total,
At least you already did 2.

I almost teared up,
As I left the room,
I gave you a wave,
And whispered see you soon.

I hope that this time,
You don't just go back,
To all the things you did,
I want you back on track.

Because maybe this time,
It won't be the same,
Maybe this time,
It could be the end of our game.

    Sweet

I know how much you care about him.. I hope not all this is true cuz I know you and him. Your both are alike in so many ways but different in the same. I can see it now you two will be friends forever. I hope so to cuz your good for each other and you both try to keep each other out of trouble or at least that is what I see. You should read this one to him, I know it will mean a lot to him knowing that you are just his closest friend! I also can't wait for him to get out he's a good kid and should not be where he is!!!!!!

Ms BabyChronic0304, I guess Greg is special and worth waiting for. Seems sad to plan a future around forced separation. -- Still the poem reads well and that's what this site is all about. --- Thank you.

Excellent write. I used to do similar things, but somewhat the opposite. I was with a Law Enforcement program for kids. My best friend and I would sit on my car in front of the cops drinking beer, singing at the top of our lungs. I think as we grow up we try to push our limits, go for the excitement. We too looked at life as a game. Sadly, kids like you and me and my friends and your friends all learn the hard way life isn't a game.

I was lucky, I think you and Greg were too. I wish you both the best of luck and hope when he does get out you find a more fruitful way of life, that doesn't hurt others. Hurting people is just way too uncool! I like your tribute to Greg, its special and most of all REAL! You did a great job with imagery and flow!

Thanks for entering my contest! Great job!

Thank You very much! I'm not Exactly like Greg... Me and Him are so close to twins in some ways... and so far from it in others... and by way of saying life is game... i'm just meaning you have to play your cards/choose your paths kinda thing... and winning is getting what you want from life, But anyways I'm off thanks for the great comment!!!!
