[ The garment I am wearing ]

The garment I am wearing
is so tattered and so torn;
I do believe it's been so
from the moment I was born.
I am not meant to keep it
it is only mine on loan.
Just a form to carry me
'til once more I reach true home.
Inside this garment is a gift,
a light, meant to be seen.
And so the tears and tatters
will reveal to hearts most keen;
the life and love placed here,
another soul on which to lean.
When the garment becomes too heavy
soaked with a lifetime's trials and tears;
and the light within finds need to grow
beyond small earthly years,
I'll happily lay it down with care
and thank the One who gave it;
this garment made to 'show' the soul
perfected through imperfect fit.
I will then glow, a new born light
no longer tattered, torn and weak.
Now polished, strong, and heaven bright
no longer 'bodied', soul will speak
"be not afraid", the soul will say,
"Come through this darkness
and live eternal Day...."

Author notes

    I don't get it... can you break it down for me? You are born with tattered clothes, but want to be naked? It sounds great to me... but is that what you REALLY want? It is so confusing... *shakes head*

    Three bunnies who have no clue why they are going to visit you... Ha ha ha.
