In our red ways

We've asked the clouds
  to form their shrouds
protecting us
  from peering eyes
To let us live
  in our red ways
and watch
  our children grow

The land is theirs,
  they’ve claimed it so
reservations are what
  we have left
We’ll make the best
  and tend the land
and pray someday,
  we’ll live in peace

In a list

The Indians always cared more for Mother Earth than the whiteman and you can see the result of that in our would today. This is good

Making do w/ what one has. Lovely. Yes, it was sad, how people back then were mean to the natives concerning the land. How injust! Wonderful poem. Thanks for sharing.
