Thus, dear reader,
I’ve wondered what I should say…
For life brings us joy, heartache, pain and happiness,
sometimes all rolled into one…
We don’t know how long we have,
on this Earth…
So we must do what we must,
to live life to the fullest…
For tomorrow we could be gone,
this I know, all too well…
One wish I have,
is to leave a legacy…
A legacy of hope,
to make us all stronger…
For without that inner strength,
none of us can find true happiness…
One day we will all leave this Earth,
leave it to our kids, and others…
Some of us will be remembered,
most others will not…
And in that memory,
we will live again…
What we must do,
is do what we can…
To be remembered…

It's always surprising when each of us come face to face with our own mortality. Even though, in birth always comes death; to dust we must return. Our legacy is left by the life we have lived. It resonates in actions, deeds, and the way that we have chosen to treat those who have loved us most. I hope yours has been a testament of love, compassion, and kindness. That will be the true measure of what kind of man you have been.
