I see them all on pedastles
of mass media hysteria
glittering like stars in their
liposuction skies.
They sink in upon themsevles
as bits are syphoned out
each particle steals a
filament of soul.
Here I sit hips round
and motherly, thighs
smooth and thick, breasts
abundantly full.
Eyes alight with thoughts
of life, love, and the joyous
happiness found in living
to the minds farthest reach.
Plastic parts and saline
additions take the place of
what nature gave them while
botox kisses foreheads.
They reshape themselves into
something never meant to be
all for false love, empty souls
left wanting a place to belong.
I embrace my curves and scars
of childbirth each a testament
to my understanding of what beauty
life can give you if you accept.
I laugh at their confusion
they never will understand
seeking what they gave away
for false affirmations and pretenses.
I'm as real as it gets.
Author notes
I'm curvy and proud of it. I've earned every one. I'll never give in to the pressure to be the "perfect woman" because I already am.
