Serenading the Moon

She serenades the moon
every night
hoping it will return
her true love to her.

He went away to sea
many months ago,
with no word,
nothing but that moon
and the eagles
that soar so near.

Darkened clouds,
billowy and haunting
circle as if
they are bringing news,
terrible news
that she is not ready
to accept.

So her violin and she
bring to the moon
sweet love songs
to lure it
into returning her lover,
a fervent cry
as if she will die
if the music stops.

this is really good. You pulled out something amazing from that picture, and I really like it. Serenading the moon. I could really feel what she is feeling, and I love the first stanza. Truly amazing!

Your message matches the picture perfectly. No wonder the ancients attributed such power and mystic to the moon. I've always been drawn to it's beauty and majesty. Good luck in the contest.

    Sincerely,
    Leo Long
