Sunshine state and a greek punker girl
At the public bus terminal, on her way to the train station
She was headed to Miami--and I was headed to the Harbour
Talked about freedom, the proletariat--the immigrant.
We walked the tracks, debating discord and liberties to ensure
We kissed and said our goodbyes like any proper couple should
Before she got on her train. Miami, how I envy you.
An old man stopped on the side of the road,
Asked if we were sailors.
Gave us a ride to the beach, and pointed out the bar
He talked of politics, and so did I
Decided left, we got along fine
He bought us drinks, and showed the town
But by midnight I was onboard
And depressed for it.
Small acts of thievery keep me sane
Stealing from these Floridians
Who’s hospitality is amazing.
Good night, children of the sunshine state
We sail for Norfolk Harbour
And I hate every second
I’m on that damned prison ship
You were a fine release, no better place to be
Than soaking up some healthy Floridian Hospitality
