I chose this night
to return to anonymity,
it seemed so perfect,
draped in shadows,
stars stretched
across the heavens.
For too long it seemed,
I had been the center
of this maelstrom,
yet with the calm returned,
I reclaim my place
upon the wall.
Let me yet again be forgotten.
Let me yet again close my eyes
and fade to black.
So much better,
that I should be unseen,
overlooked,
undetected,
as with anonymity,
I can never again,
let you down.
