I've always envied those
poets
who can write on the spot without reason,
yet create meaning
in every sequence of words they choose to align.
But me, I've been dizzy
for two days straight, and can't think
of anything captivating to interest
anybody.
So I tried to sing a song and I forgot the words,
botched the tune;
my voice cracked, and my dog
left the room.
even if i could write, i
Couldn't let you know what I think,
for fear you'd walk away,
scold me,
report me to more waiting rooms.
(
I've spent my whole life thus far waiting,
rambling,
confiding in humans three times my age.)

I totally know what you mean. I wish I was more mature or something and something better to write about but I don't. Sometimes I can't write because whatever is on the tip of my tongue seems so stupid in mature eyes. I don't know.
But I like all your poetry, you have this mature wise voice that is just... I love it. yeah.

I really like this, I have been so dry lately that it almost hurts. This is great honey.

thank you!

I've never had that gift either... don't feel bad... Poems for me comes with waves of nearly unbearable emotion.... Feelings that nearly cripple, and force themselves out of you in the most inconvenient times and places... For me, writing is like 'breathing through it.' It's the only reason I ever put the pen to paper to begin with... And after that, I was sold... hehe.
-
-
well I'm glad you got sold, because it really does help doesn't it? and, well frankly
you're a beautie.

Sometimes poems just come--those may be the dangerous ones, because they make everything seem too easy, too clear.
Sometimes the whole proces is painful, blocked, and the only way around the pain is to write it out. The poem becomes less important than the act of determination in writing it.
The third stanza captures this neatly. -
haha, awww hun you're a really great poet. i write a lot of poems in one day but that's just me, sometimes i think they're crap but hey... .whatever.=]

-
sometimes thoughts of lil' moments are the best thing to write about...and your write is an example of getting past writers block....honest and real...always a plus
I read five times more than I write, I am inspired by so many forms of stimuli that I couldn't list them all in two days...just follow your instincts and always be true to you
and keep it real
best wishes

thanks for the advice muddy-- yeah I read more than I write too. It just blows my mind though how some people can write completely on the spot it seems without even having to think about it.
maybe I'll become more experienced and be able to write like that someday too.

I totally get the "waiting my whole life" part. Isn't poetry an awesome outlet?

-
-
yes it is!
I just find it difficult to write anything interesting unless something major has happened lately.
thanks for the clapsters!
